About this event
Instructor: Charan Sachar
Want to create a dynamic, colorful, ever changing scrap sock yarn blanket or a larger project that keeps you going? Using just your scraps of sock yarn, learn how to create magic multicolor yarn cakes in different colors. We will categorize your yarns, cut them up and rejoin them to make colorful yarn cakes which can be used for bigger projects like the seashell yarn blanket ($10 pattern included in registration fee).
Prerequisites: Students should be able to knit and purl
Things to bring to class:
Pair of US size 7 or 8 needles (whichever you like to use with worsted weight yarn)
At least 200gms of scrap sock/fingering weight yarn–more is better! If you come with more yarn, you will leave with more.
Optional: If you have a digital scale, bring one along!
Yarn from all students will be mixed to increase variety in your resulting yarn. Bring all and any colors. Brights, neutrals, variegated– no scrap is too small or too ugly! Yarns will be cut up further so do not bring full skeins, do not go shopping.
