About this event

Boucle yarns have a very unique construction and we will make beautiful textured yarns by using different fiber preps and scaling the size of our singles to make very textured popcorn Boucle yarns.
Materials Fee: $35, included in registration fee, includes fiber, core thread and ply thread.
Prerequisites: Students should be familiar with their wheel, able to spin a continuous thread and make a plied yarn.
Important Homework! Since this is a half-day class, students should have singles on two bobbins already spun up with at least 1 oz of singles spun on each (Worsted spun at approx. 10-12 WPI (not very fine), with enough twist for plying)
Equipment Requirements: Student will need to bring the following to class–
Wheel with a large orifice (1/2” or more) to accommodate textured yarns. (Most yarns are doable by regular orifice wheels as well, but require hand winding the yarn on the bobbin.)
For most classes 2-3 bobbins, or ability to wind off bobbins on storage bobbins to ply.
